Can anyone open this file (about 40MB) successfully, and do a Save As into Jpeg?
It’s a raw file from a Nokia 1020 (WP 8.1) phone which uses some sort of nonstandard DNG format, and none of
can open it. Well, some can open it and display it but if you do a Save As they crash when trying to parse the full bitmap. I have a multi-format converter which works, so I don’t actually need the output file, but stupidly it drops EXIF data unless I output to TIF (100MB filesize) and then go to JPG via one of the many usual routes. Other converters that work (e.g. ReaConverter Pro) cost money….
Here you go.
What did you do it with? I have just heard that Photoshop CS6 handles it OK.
Irfanview 4.36 – opened, gamma-corrected and resized:

An old version of Paint Shop Pro X2
gimp 2.8.14 with ufraw 0.20 opens it as well
or shotwell on the Ubuntu 14.04 that I happened to have at hand.
Clearly I don’t qualify for the “anorak” label
Thank you all!
Next thing will be to see if any of these preserve all the EXIF stuff including GPS location, which should be in there, it being a phone camera with position info enabled.
IRfanview is a particularly good tool.
Opens w/o probs in PS 5.1, but I don’t see any location data in there.
Yes – you are right; no GPS data in there to start with. Perhaps the GPS didn’t have a fix at the time… need to check that.
