A classy landing on a road

I can’t see any pontoons?

The jetty which the Russian Cessna hits is probably floating on pontoons, rather than piles into the bottom. It’s brought to a sudden stop.

? does just splash into the water, at a rather steep descent angle

Where do you guys see a pontoon???

Or a jetty? I can only see a tree in the foreground. I’ve watched it a few times but can’t make out any structures in the water?

Sorry. I saw the tree as a jetty. My mistake.

I’ve found a version of the first event with ATC.

Water ditching looks very dramatic on fixed gears (witnessed one at Hern Bay), even with a proficient pilots flying slower than what text books prescribe as numbers.

I flew on that specific aircraft: it always lands with 20-ish knots on tarmac, still as you see on that video it flips over water like hitting a wall !!

Is it better to fly onto the water than almost stall on to it. Fly it on, put tail in first?
