The F35 probably consumed funds which other military organisations were after, so a lot of people probably got cheesed off.
One way to reduce this is to integrate the air force, the navy and the army into a single foreign policy instrument, but hell will freeze over before that happens in the major powers 
I think the negativism is mostly media related stuff. Pilots seems to love the plane, so it can’t be all that bad.
There is a lot of knocking of the F35 going on.
Apart for the humongous cost and similar cost over-runs, is it any good ?
The Skunk Works don’t often get things wrong or is it the Pentagon’s idict that it has to fill so many roles and be adaptable to the requirements of all USA Services which is the problem ?
