Amazing cargo 737 ditching

Ditching a 737 at night and walking (errr – swimming) away from it is pretty amazing. Not a lot of details yet, but see here and here

well, the reason as to why they had to ditch in the first place might be

pretty amazing

That must have been terrifying, fair play to them.

Good job, I wonder if they were in a raft?

Apart from fuel, what could cause a dual engine failure? They reported overheating, not loss of power as such, but they must have lost power eventually because you would never shut down an engine if below safe flying speed, even if you are on fire.

Volcanic ash and foreign object ingestion (e.g. birds) to name two.

One found on the tail and another clinging to a cargo net floating alongside some of the cargo, from what I read here

It’s easy to write this but hearing that I can’t help but think the pilots could have made it more clear as to their danger, especially when they confirmed the 2nd engine had issues – but that also ATC also didn’t appreciate the urgency either.

Let’s hope they both pull through.
