Light Aircraft down at Bruchsal Aerodrome, 3 fatalities D-ETOI

Not a good weekend for GA.

A light airplane of french manufacture and german registration has crashed during a landing attempt at Bruchsal airfield (EDTC).

The airplane hit the back of a local home supply store, which is located right of the runway end.

The 3 occupants perished in the crash.

The only pic so far published

The story I read called it a Holzflieger, so Jodel or a Robin seems right.

Silvaire,

It may be a Robin after all. But I better shut up until it’s clear.

Well, it was a Jodel DR1050 Ambassadeur, D-ETOI.

People who live close by heard radio reports that the airplane had diverted there and tried several approaches before crashing. It is said that Bruchsal is not open for airplanes from other places, though I have not been able to confirm that. It is a 500 m runway and there appears to be enough overrun space after the runway, but they crashed to the right of the far end threshold.
