Does anyone have any contact information / recent experience of EDES?
I am visiting Darmstadt next month for a conference and EDES looks like it’s the closest airport to town. I can’t find any information about it though, other than the basic runway information from the plate on Skydemon.
I’d be flying from the UK and would enter Schengen via a stop in France, before heading to Germany.
Forget it. It’s essentially a closed airport. No way to get PPR as a visitor. Only the operator (technical university of Darmstadt) is allowed to use it for very limited purposes.
Use Egelsbach. It is very close, has all the services (including permanent customs/immigration).
Ok, thanks Bosco. Should it be easy enough to get a taxi or an Uber from Egelsbach?

Egelsbach is first class GA.
