Is your plane trying to tell you that something is about to break?

For the record, and really nitpicking, one could have it made by the village blacksmith, doesn’t have to be in the US. Of course the US guys have it all figured out, so it’s usually the best and easiest route, but not the only one. I have an “owner produced” landing light lens from a local shop in Poland, which, admittedly, is probably the easiest thing to “owner produce”.

About 6 months ago, my fuel pressure indicator light (the one which comes on with the electric fuel pump) started to “disappear”. The fuel pump could be heard running so I didn’t worry too much and everything worked, and a visual check around the engine didn’t show any leaks etc.

Then the light started to behave again, and was fine for the last few months.

But I made a note to change the pressure switch (which operates the light) at the next opportunity.

Today we replaced it, and what did we find on the old one?
