Glass cockpit v. Conventional instruments - NTSB accident rate comparison

Sadly basic training is not required for someone to rent a plane with glass and ‘assume’ they can simply takeoff and fly around.

Actually, this is not true for Europe, at least not for flying on an SEP-License (LAPL(A), PPL(A)…) where a differences training is required for EFIS systems. This is, however, not necessary for the German microlight license, and for European TMG and glider licenses.

That’s good then…but the glass v steam’s report is from the NTSB which are accidents in the USA.

Sadly, XPLANE does not have the G1000….

I actually purchased a G1000 module for FS X which is fairly decent. Cannot remember the name of the software manufacturer right now. It has GFC700. The one problem I have found so far is that is does not do standard rate turns but banks to 30°. Pity because other than that is is quite good.

Can you give the name and price? I got a free copy of the Garmin G1000 simulator from Cirrus…but I want to run it on XPLANE…

I run FSX and Prepar3D since last week with

G1000 sim with worldwide approach coverage:

SIDs and STARs:
