Rochester Airport needs pilots help.
The approved Rochester Airport plan for a hard runway is to be re-considered again by the planning committee taking account of things they allegedly do last time round.
This gives the nimbys a second chance to write lots of “I object” emails to Medway Council.
So if you have a spare minute please send an
email to:- [email protected]
Just say you ’ Support the plan to improve Rochester Airport ’.
If you want to embellish your email you could point out that there will actually be a reduction in noise from aircraft being higher, earlier. The spreading of the flights more evenly through the year. The benefit to business of having a use-able airport in winter as well as summer. The opening of a Heritage Centre for Shorts Bros. Or something else.
It a numbers game and they dont want to lose out to the Objectors at this late stage who seem to be quite organised in getting their objections in again.
please send by 21st Feburary..

In the UK planning process, a letter in support of a proposal counts for much more than 10 letters objecting.
This is partly because nearly every proposal attracts loads of objections, and most of them are not based on planning policy so are worthless, especially if the applicant goes to appeal (which any serious applicant MUST).
Been there, done it, several times.
Email sent… A hard runway in that area that is not Biggin or Southend can’t do any harm for sure.
