Swiss ATC in LSAG and LSAZ ACC have VDF displayed at all times. It shows up as a yellow line radiating from the radar station and points in the general direction of the aircraft transmitting. It’s very useful for guiding the controller’s eye towards a transmitting aircraft.
Also, if they lose the VDF capability, they will reduce airspace capacity.
