Night stop southern UK

Rouen would be a good option.
But looking at their webpage, it looks like they need 24hr notice for immigration. And they have now left for the day.

Is there any airports north of Paris that have easier access to immigration and still doesn’t overcharge for landing and fuel?

I guess LFRG Deauville is the best option then. Doesn’t seem to have any PPR on immigration.

You should be able to use following airports on short notice:

LFRC Cherbourg. No PNR

LFLX Auxerre – 4 h PNR

One popular one LFAT Le Touquet 4 hrs PNR IIRC Very good restaurant on premises.

Also take a look at Dinard. That should be available too.

LFPT, LFPN

Yep, Dinard should work as well (no PPR for immigration), but Cherbourg doesn’t really work, since it’s one of those places that calls for 24h (via their website!) but don’t bother to publish a NOTAM or to change the AIP. Technically, they won’t be able to do anything if one arrives unannounced, but it might create unpleasant discussions and delays.

Mainz (EDFZ) & Egelsbach (EDFE), Germany

Planned with LFRG.

Sent them an email with all the details.
Seems like they are non PPR for immigrations.
Hopefully they reply before departure tomorrow morning.

As said previously, Southend night surcharge is not until 2300 local.
From their website:
“Night Surcharge
The following charge applies from 2300 to 0600 hours and is
chargeable on takeoff and landing:-
1 to 19 tonnes £200.00
20+ tonnes £400.00
A single charge will apply if an aircraft arrives and departs within
a three hour period.”

A number of delivery flights pass through from Wick every year, and there is Holiday Inn on airfield close to FBO, overlooking Apron.

Disappointing that there is no place in the UK with PCL etc that’s suitable

I cant thank Espen enough for his help.

It was my friend pedro and I ferrying our P210 across from the US.

Once things got going it was difficult to do all the flying and replanning with the inevitable route changes required.

We eventually stopped the following day at LFRG and made it safely to Mallorca on a relatively easy stop (beware of charter flights needing refuelling!) and onward flight home.

Thanks veryone for the help provided

@Antonio – would you care to write up a trip report and post it on EuroGA? Pretty please!
