PC12 ditching in the Pacific Ocean

A PC12 on a ferry flight was forced to ditch about 1100 NM east of Hilo on a ferry flight from Santa Maria (KSMX) to Hilo.

Will be interesting to hear what caused this.

I wonder how the plumbing of the ferry tank in the pressurised cabin is designed to reach the fuel system, feeding into one of the wing tanks? Presumably there is a reasonable engineering solution, but if it is due to fuel exhaustion typically you would test the ferry tank before the PNR using the normal fuel system.
