I was referring to their phrases such as ’er indoors, bloomin ‘eck, etcetera.
Also their conversion of any monetary amount back into pound/schilling/pence terms is mind numbing.
When I was at school here, 1969-1973, I was told firmly by the English language teacher to write " bus " as " ’bus " because it stands for “omnibus”.
Standards have plummetted since.
