Maximum wind for a tied-down Cessna 172

I plan to stay several days in Royan. I’ll tied down my aircraft with this

Up to what wind speed would you leave your aircraft tied down like that?
Please answer quickly the train is at 12 or so.

I don’t think these into-soil tiedowns are strong.

Also it depends on how long the wind lasts for. Wind creates an oscillatory motion which gradually pulls anything out of the ground.

That was maybe 15kt.

This is a real issue on Greek Islands which mostly don’t have tie downs but easily see 30+ knot winds in th summer.

I use the claw and had 50kt+ last week, but it’s a Warrior, not a 172. But it stops the plane moving, which has happened before. I loop the supplied ropes double through the eyebolts, since these nylon ropes IMHO are the weak point.

I’ve heard stories about the claw coming out of the ground with a cylinder of soil still attached, and also the of the arm snapping off, but IMHO is still vastly better than the typical concrete filled tyre etc.. And much better than the spiral wind in thing, which was used on the Cessna parked next to me, which stretched so much that the loop on the end opened out letting both ropes drop right out! Amazingly, the Cessna (152) was still there in the morning, and hadn’t blown into my plane!
