Collonsay, mentioned by Dublinpilot, requires previous day PPR from Argyle & Bute – Oban Airport, and also an " Out of Hours Permit", so it’s not like the US back-country strips. I believe the previous day PPR is to placate the island owner. The runway was built with EU money.
Coll just requires PPR and is covered by the same “O of H”.

I’d no problem getting same day PPR for Colonsay. Maybe I was lucky because indeed normally I’d ask the day before.

The out of hours permit does require an application, but it’s free for Coll & Colonsay, and lasts until your insurance expiry date.

I have a (now very out of date) farm strip guide covering the whole of the UK. It was to a similar standard as Pooleys and gave contact details for PPR etc. Unfortunately it’s in another country so I can’t really give any more information than that, but they do exist!
