In 2014/2015, in South East England about £9,500, 55hrs 10, although that included about £1,000 additional flying costs because I had to switch aircraft and do 5 hours to get used to it. Local landing fees were just under £11 and the exams were £25 each as I recall.
In 2009, I paid 7000E for the PPL (50hrs). The mount was a C150E.
In 1964, at the Wiltshire School of Flying at Thruxton, I payed £135, + £2 10/ (£2.50) for membership of Wiltshire Flying Club. Accommodation was included, on site, if I remember correctly. Excellent instructors.
No ATC, no radio, no electrics, no brakes. Modified Tiger Moths, with 4 seats and an enclosed cockpit.
My training was from 10/2015 to 06/2017, 45hrs 9min total @ 145€/hr for a new Aquila AT01 + 30€/hr for the instructor. Grand total was slightly under 10k € in EDWF.
