IO550-F engine

I have an IO 550-F continental engine that keeps “throwing” the alternator belt off. I’ve replaced the Starter adapter due
to excessive end play…replaced the belt and alternator….what else is there to check????

The first thing to check is that pulley rotation axes are parallel and the grooves are lined up with each other (in other words, that the belt runs strictly parallel to the groove on all pulleys). If the alignment is OK, a properly tensioned, properly sized and undamaged V-belt should not come off unless one of the pulleys has moved a considerable distance, which can only happen if something is seriously wrong with the parts holding it in place.

I totally agree as all has been checked on several occasions. But just cant seem to find the problem at present time.

One more imaginable reason is a foreign object coming into the pulley groove and throwing the belt off. Could this be the case?

No All was checked…still keeps happening to this date………….
