In the course of a re-registration onto the N-register, I need to get new beacon identification coding into my ELT to have it registered to the USA.
The seems to be not straightforward, does anyone have suggestions as to how to do this (or otherwise an avionics shop in Europe who would do this if self-programming is not practical)?
IIRC, you need a proprietary cable + software to do this, so best to send it out.
I know a couple reasonable shops that can do this – where are you located ?
ps: What are you putting on FAA reg and which DAR is handling it ?

Thanks. The aircraft is in France and has been through the DAR inspection so this ELT issue is just an outstanding item. Good to know Adams can do it. We may have another solution now, too. I’m a bit cautious about specifics due to past comments as to who reads the posts here :-)

FWIW, my ELT was bought directly from the USA and remains coded for the USA. The NOAA sends me an address+contact confirmation form annually and seems very happy with this.
