Still trying to figure out what it takes to move a PA28 from VFR day/night to IFR.
Are there any additional maintenance requirements when the machine is ok for IFR operations ? I heard that the avionics has to be tested more regularily etc. is it true ?
Yes, that is true, the avionics checks have to be carried out every year and there are more avionics required, thus more checks and higher bills.
Also, owner maintenance is more limited. You are no longer allowed to install e.g. a new battery yourself.
