Just seen a NOTAM about RAF Waddington ; Red Arrows practicing there for 12 days starting 28th March. I wonder how that is so different to RAF Scampton, there home base? What am I missing please because it seems quite illogical?
I suspect the NOTAM doesn’t say what they’re practicing there. Might well have to do with the goings-on a fifteen hundred miles or so to the east…
172driver I don’t think the Hawk T1 as adapted for the Reds would be a lot of use in that role!
More that Scampton might be required for something related to the goings-on to the east, and thus the Red Arrows are temporarily displaced to Waddington.
RAFAT is moving to Waddington and Scampton closing. This is a trial period to familiarise ATC, station personnel and the team with Waddington based ops.
