Requirements for crossing border without landing?

I frequently fly with a motorglider from a Swiss airfield close to Geneva, which is obviously surrounded by France.

If I just do a round trip flight into France without planning to land, is any of the following legal (or acceptable/tolerated)?

  • Fly NORDO
  • Not file a flight plan
  • Not do customs
  • Fly without transponder (my plane doesn’t have one)
  • Not be in FIS or ATC contact
  • Not inform FIS of border crossing

I don’t know the specific situation at the French/Swiss border — including airspace requirements — but generally speaking when you are overflying a country (which is what you would do).

Fly NORDO

Yes.

Not file a flight plan
No.
Not do customs
Yes.
Fly without transponder (my plane doesn’t have one)
Yes.
Not be in FIS or ATC contact
Yes.
Not inform FIS of border crossing
Yes.

Not so sure about that because you need to report crossing the border.

Agree. There are some borders that you can cross without flight plan, specifically between Germany and some neighbouring countries. There may also be countries where transponders are required. if installed.

Not be in FIS or ATC contact
Yes.
Not inform FIS of border crossing
Yes.

It may not be the case everywhere, but I believe that most places you do need to inform ATC about border crossing, and as a consequence, the answer to the last two questions should be NO.
