Try your motorcycle insurance. I had a bike accident in Germany a couple of years ago.
I only had a basic liability insurance, but it covered the repatriation costs of the bike to The Netherlands.
Your AA/ADAC/? membership might cover it too.
Thanks everyone for your wishes and advice! The situation with recovery is somewhat unusual: I don’t need to take the bike back home, but rather to Gorizia, Italy – it’s not mine, I bought it for an acquaintance of mine who lives in Israel, and was actually taking it to Italy to be loaded onto a ferry. Right now I am thinking of renting a big van or truck to do that; I may even be able to carefully drive it myself, as I have use of one arm and a half (and have a category C license, too). The bike is a 30-year-old enduro, so it may well be transported on its side rather than on a trailer. Any recommendations will be appreciated.
