SEP CBIR to MEP

You can use your own aircraft, but for the class rating and the first issuance of an MEP IR you will need to complete your training with an ATO. The ATO then needs to be happy with your aircraft and your insurance.

Has anybody with a SEP CB IR converted it to a MEP? What is involved ?

I’ve done exactly that in the beginning of this year. We combined the training and check rides for the class rating and the MEIR. It took me about 20 hours to cover everything, though that may also be Swiss diligence to some degree (did my SEIR with the minimum amount of hours).
