The Rebuild Rescue TB20 is flying

If we are talking wood frame rather than wooden houses then dotted round Europe there are many, some of which were built in the 12th century. Look around towns such as Canterbury or Chester in the UK or even Fontenay Le Comte, here in France. There are still wooden medieval forts in Japan, but they may have undergone a certain degree of restoration. One has to remember that some exotic woods and woods such as oak get stronger with age. In US skyscrapers wood was replaced by a steel framework, not because of durability but because of cost and the ease of manipulating the steel girders compared to their equivalent in oak.
That’s why I always have a chuckle when people say don’t buy a Robin or Jodel if you have to keep it outside. The same goes for any plane.
