Uk to France, do you send a Gendec to the arrival airport in France of just send an email with aircraft details, eta and passenger details and passports.?
Thank you
Some are ok with just the details via plain email, others insist in their own. A mess. An ICAO Gendec won‘t work, as it doesn‘t contain the required info.
just send an email with aircraft details, eta and passenger details and passports.?
Legally that is what is required for the notice…some airports insist on websites or some pdf forms
I am not aware of requirement to send GENDEC (ICAO health declaration) in France, I may have missed it
Check Annex1 and lazy GoogleTranslation, UK GAR will have these details, I never had anyone complaining about email or sending GAR “as is” (except Tours who asked to use some website)

I copied the form from the Calais website, that was requsted by their Douanes (Which is mostly a MS Exel sheet and very similar to that requested by Le Touquet)
Amended it to not actually say Calais, kept all the relevant French text and the French flag etc.
I’ve used it all over France for 4 years without issue so far.
I usually email ahead with my request and point them to my attachment. I’ve sometimes arrived and seen it printed out on their desk.
Deauville LFRG uses this “gendec”:
Preavis_douane_UK_pdf
It seems to be specific to Deauville, and to the UK.
Looks like everybody in France is doing their own thing
Yes. Some funny translations there, but all in all, it is clear.
The issue is that when you are already „on tour“ these pdfs forms are a pain if you are without a laptop.
What they actually sent me is a Word doc but I can’t upload that here.
But yes I totally agree re the laptop. Actually a lot of stuff is just too much pain without a laptop. I carry a laptop unless the trip will absolutely definitely not need one e.g. a day trip UK-UK-UK, UK-France-UK, etc. For UK-France-France-UK I would carry it. For > 1 night’s stay I would carry it.
And to top it all, these “gendecs” are obviously not machine-readable (if they were, there would be a standard format across France, for French police etc) so the police are merely collecting .doc files on some PC in some office, and maybe printing them off and filing the paper. Same as what Alderney does, but France is somewhat bigger
And by the way, the footnote in the form is outdated as Bulgaria and Romania are not listed as Schengen countries. Heck, it is even missing Croatia, so it must be stone-old!
