I assume the first list comes from the EuroControl system? I was surprised there were so many waypoints, and so were so short (rough avergage of about 15nm). Is that normal?

EuroFPL's flight following is a very nice feature!
I think the dots on the traveled distance are position fixes rather than waypoints. The distance to go seems to be displayed as a straight line, rather than the planned route.
Just looked it up after the flight. This time the tracking didn't break, despite me doing loads of off-route, due to buildups.
I will post the final image when I get back, because the link I posted works for just 24hrs.
It is done by radar tracking at intervals, so you see the actual track flown.

I'm still in LDLO and enjoying every minute of it. Great to have met Peter and Emir + wife. Mali Losinj is one of the best reasons to fly a private airplane.
Flew out early on Friday, in a simple C172 and VFR. Mde her climb all the way to 12500ft with 4 persons on board but eventually had to realize that the TCU buildup won and descend through a hole and continue low level. Back tomorrow.
This time I had one of my very few bad experiences with German FIS. When reaching the boarder to Austria I told her and got a "approved to leave frequency". I asked about a handover to Vienna information and got a snappy "that information should be on your map". Yeah, right, single pilot without autopilot with two kids on board, turbulence and having to avoid TCU all the time, she can't just give me a piece of information she knows by heart.
