What apps do you people use for this? I am after a “metar map” kind of thing (there are a few of those) but with tafs also. And maybe some other wx overlays e.g. radar.
You should consider using EasyVFR on your new phone or tablet for this or your VFR trips. It will do exactly this METAR / TAF map that you are looking for, even reading into the TAF for TEMPOs and BECMGs and using those to choose the colour for the correct time slot.
It’s got hour by hour weather forecast too, for the next 48-72 hours, so you can see the weather moving through.
Consider looking it up as part of the EuroGA app test ;)
There is a full tutorial on how to use the weather features at the link below, but of course feel free to ask me.

Garmin Pilot for weather radar etc
Skydemon has METAR and TAF (and btw also colour coding for the Austrian GAFOR routes through the Alps) included.
www.wetteronline.de has very well made cloud, precipitation and lightning overlays. They have apps, both free and for a small charge. The latter offers increased resolution.
blueline how please do you get Skydemon to show the GAFOR route in colour?
Is there any website (not a mobile app) that represents TAFs/METARs data in graphical form?
