It has been incredibly wet here. This is Shoreham EGKA
which actually got flooded properly recently when the riverbank broke. The grass is now clearly unusable for most aircraft types.
Its really only been wet the last 3 weeks – October/November and most of December were excellent for flying.
We flew from Biggin up to Great Massingham (in Norfolk) yesterday – there was actually a lot less flooding than we expected.
Wet indeed. The strip has been pretty much unusable since the 13 Dec 13. Flying back into Shoreham on the 2nd mid afternoon, all that surface water lying around plus the heavy rain showers made it quite tricky (well for me) to spot the actual runway. The river was a great help.
