Regular route will not now validate - EGBE-EGBJ

I wonder if those who know the UK airspace well can help with the following…..

I regularly fly from Coventry (EGBE) to Guernsey (EGJB). My usual route is as follows…

EGBE CPT Y321 PEPIS Q41 ORTAC (@FL120 or FL100)

This route is no longer valid for some reason. The route now given is……..

EGBE N0180F120 KIDLI N859 CPT Y321 PEPIS/N0181F130 Q41 SAM M195 IBNID/N0180F120 DCT LELNA GUR1Y EGJB

For some reason it wont let go down Q41 to ORTAC no matter what level I put in and it wants to send me up to FL130 (oxygen needed) between PEPIS and SAM then back down to FL120. I can’t see from the low level IFR chart why. Q41 has a MAA of FL120. I have googled some info on some proposed airspace changes around that location but wonder if anyone could shed some light on the issue.

EGBE (COVENTRY, UK)

However, I have found that the following validates in Autorouter when manually edited.

N0176F100 KIDLI N859 CPT Y321 PEPIS Q41 ORTAC GUR1G

Any higher FL will not validate.

Rob, try this it valiades OK with EUROFPL at F170

DCT KIDLI N859 CPT Y321 PEPIS Q41 SAM N866 ROKSI DCT LELNA GUR1Y

Thanks for that. Though wondering why I cannot fly down Q41 anymore?? This is the IFPS reason given…..

PROF204:
RS: TRAFFIC VIA NEDUL Q41 THRED SAM Q41 NEDUL THRED Q41 ORTAC IS ON FORBIDDEN ROUTE REF:[EG2626B] SAM Q41 ORTAC

That is rather odd. There is a new entry in the RAD restrictions document and the entry for rule EG2626 says the following:

However, the restriction should kick in only if your RFL is above FL195 which it is not in your case. I wonder whether the RAD restriction was coded incorrectly.

The entry is from the following XLS file:

https://www.nm.eurocontrol.int/RAD/ and then go to “Annex – Pan-Europe”

Yes, I found the same .xls doc as well and agree that the restriction should not apply at FL120

EGBE (COVENTRY, UK)

Found it, the relevant text is actually in the cell but the fixed row width hides the text. The full text is:

Not available for traffic
1. With-RFL-above FL195 via (as:LFFFUIR, EGTTFIR, EGTTUIR)
Except DEP (ad:EGDM/HH/HI/HR)
2. With RFL Above FL105 in EG
Except DEP EGDM/HH/HI/HR
With ARR JERSEY_GROUP

I was wondering about the B in EG2626*B* and searching for the second rule…here it is.

Operational goals are:

1. ORTAC is a low level exit point and should only be used by traffic which stays below FL195 in French/UK airspace
2. EGDM/HH/HI/HR departures inbound to Jersey Group above may file via Q41 ORTAC up to FL135, or via Z171 LELNA above FL135. Other traffic above FL105 shall file via N621/N63 LELNA.

The relevant SRD routes between EGBE and EGJJ have also been updated:

EGBE DCT KIDLI N859 CPT Y321 PEPIS Q41 ORTAC JSY1A/1G EGJJ up to FL105
EGBE DCT KIDLI N859 CPT Y321 PEPIS Q41 SAM N63 LELNA JSY1W/1X EGJJ from FL105 to FL295

Thanks for the digging, it looks like they are trying to separate the traffic down Q41. But at either FL100 or FL120 autorouter routes me via LELNA. although if you maially enter I can get a route to validate down Q41 at FL100. What I don’t like is when I ask for a route at FL120 it want to increase my FL to FL120 between PEPIS and IBMID. I can’t find the reason for this.

What does SRD stand for?

OK. Found the SRD doc. But that route…wbardorf wrote:

EGBE DCT KIDLI N859 CPT Y321 PEPIS Q41 SAM N63 LELNA JSY1W/1X EGJJ from FL105 to FL295

is for RNAV1 equipped aircraft. I did re do my aircraft settings in autorouter but didn’t seem to make a difference

EGBE (COVENTRY, UK)

According to the SRD this should work…

N0180F120 KIDLI N859 CPT Y321 PEPIS Q41 SAM N63 LELNA GUR1Y

But this does not validate, with the following error message….

PROF201: CANNOT CLIMB OR DESCEND ON OLGUD N63 LELNA BECAUSE OF UNAVAILABLE LEVELS F058..F120 ON N63
