A flying buddy from the US plans to visit a friend in Rome and wants to explore the area from the air too. Has anyone a recommendation for a school or club where he could book a plane and an instructor?
@AfricanEagle will know best, but my (now aged) experience in doing exactly what’s proposed was that Sabaudia was great. It’s a bit south of Rome, but still in the general area.
3 schools at Rome Urbe airport:
Aviomar has Cessnas and pipers – www.aviomarscuoladivolo.com
Urbe Aero has Diamonds – www.urbe.aero
Aerotech has Cessnas – www.aerotechroma.it Aerotech is family run and has a nice feeling
Otherwise at Sabaudia (80 kms south of Rome) which has a Tecnam and a Eurosport – www.volaresabaudia.it
At Sabaudia there is also a Cap 10 with instructor for aerobatics if you want.
Finally I can take your buddy flying in my C172 from Sabaudis but I am not an instructor so he would have to be right seat pax.
