An airline pilot enjoying his job

Yes, they do exist. We keep reading too much about airline pilots doing it just “because it’s a job”. Here is a fantastic testimonial: Link (text in German only)

I am actually surprised that some airlines seem to tolerate their pilots (on duty) photographing and publishing them.

Why should they forbid this, it reads like a commercial…

Well, because airlines like to perpetuate the “zero tolerance towards risk” mantra.

What’s the risk of taking a few pictures from the jumpseat (or above F100) in VMC? Certainly better than fiddling with a computer and forgetting to talk to ATC

Traditionally, Swiss(air) (and many other airlines) are mostly run by pilots, so I guess that the risk tolerance is somewhat relative.
