I have just bought a plane with the above T/P which is mode S, but I it seems there is more than mode s to this new transponder regime? Especially to someone who has only ever used mode a and c!! . My question is which box do you tick on the flight plan under the mode s options? Sky Demon has 7 mode s options and some more ADS-B? My guess is the plain and simple Mode S, but one thing I have learned from flying is the six P’s and that would preclude guessing!

GTX328 is mode S only.
I always use SYRG/S for the equipment list.
Somewhat out of date, i.e. latest transponders are not on the list, but still useful:
In the US, all that matters is C. Also for the transponders that are capable of H does not mean that they are providing the necessary information, Finally, specifing U1 or U2 without also specifying one of the transponder codes is invalid. It is true that U1 or U2 is not a transponder, but there must be a transponder installed as well or the US will reject the flightplan.
