I think it is an amazing piece of technology but maybe a little bit too modern as it cannot be field overhauled. Abandoning proven millenaries old kit like the plumb line has been a severe mistake.
In EASA land there is a calendar based mandatory replacement schedule unless you have one of the “newer” pumps with a window where you can see the vanes. I’ve only had to replace perfectly working pumps but I know a lot of pilots with failures.
Newer panels/planes do without so it’s clear there isn’t much innovation happening.
Get a vet pump. Never a problem.
Stupid ideas: gull winged doors on non retractable planes.
Narco – the old joke is that it’s “Not A Radio Company” (and that’s sadly true now).
We have a Narco com radio. It works fine except the way the display is connected to the rest of the radio makes it highly failure prone.
