I have a A20 with auto mode set on, and it never switched on by itself… No problem with switch off, but on, …

Ditto. But mine has a regular two plug arrangement, so auto switch on would require it to be consuming power the whole time.

I used to have (10 years ago) a Lightspeed Zulu 1 that I was very happy with. Then it developed some fault so I decided to upgrade to their latest, greatest offering – I forget the name (BPX?). It was a disaster – ate batteries and the powerpack weighed about a kilo. I tried to get them to make me some kind of offer to get a refurbished Zulu, but they didn’t give a whatever.

Sold the Liughtspeed on eBay for about 3/4 of what I paid for it, bought an A20, and have never looked back. Interestingly, my instructor had the exact same experience. Byebye Lightspeed.

@Peter see my post #45.

Bose added the Auto-On in 2015.

Any idea when they plan to make it working? :D

To understand you correctly, you have a post-2015 (BT Gen 2) LEMO headset cable with Auto-On switch, it’s set to On and the headset doesn’t turn on with ship’s power?

Ok, so it cannot work on a standard GA-2plug type. but I find hard to understand the “auto” criteria if in fact it just powers on as soon as it’s powered…

Because you may not want to turn on noise cancelation automatically when power on. E.g. I never turn on noise cancelation before starting the engine.

I would deal with that by not putting on the headset

Presumably that’s because in order for it to detect when it’s connected to a radio/intercom, the electronics would need to be permanently powered to know when to fully turn on. That would rundown your batters when “powered off”.

With those on aircraft power it’s easier. “If you have power use it.” No batteries to run down.
