TB20 upper wing skin vibration

Hello,

I am fairly new to this forum and so is our Tb20 new in the club. We just bought the tb20gt, year 2000 few months ago.
It has a total of 800h on it, 1100 landings.

I am aware that deformities on the wing skin are quite frequent with the tb’s or at least tb20s, however:

We are experiencing vibrations during flight on the top side of the right hand wing. They are always at the same 3 positions and appear thru a wide band of speed.

Are these vibrations critical in your opinion? If yes what are the causes.

Are they a common TB thing?

Kind regards

Not critical Patrick.

Not ideal either, but common with many types. If you look out while you’re pulling some G, it’ll be even more alarming looking! The skins will “oil can” when there is not enough curve, or stiffness, or the skin is not tight. For your piece of mind, have a recurring look at the rivet heads in that local area. If they are fine now, and are seen to begin to “smoke” you should draw this to the attention of the maintainer. Otherwise, not a concern…

Yes this is normal. Any skin which is close to being flat will vibrate and this can be seen on the upper wing surface of the TB20 if the sun is reflecting off it in just the right way.
