Any good lunch destinations like a Newquay (ie good airport with fairly nice restaurants nearby)?
There aren't many hard runways longer than 1000m in Ireland apart from the regionals. (Dublin, Cork, Waterford, Kerry, Shannon, Galway, Knock, Sligo & Donegal). Most of them tend to be well out of the cities, so I'm not really aware of any high quality restaurants near by. Sorry.
Hi all
Just want to say thanks again. We had a good time in Dublin. VFR transit of Dublin airspace was a doddle thanks to dublinpilot's advice
Weston was great. A nice girl came over to the a/c when we parked to welcome us and offered to carry our bags. As we are three big chaps, we thanked her but declined! Without us asking, she had even kindly booked a taxi for us which was waiting as soon as we'd got our stuff. Great friendly service. Landing was 20E and parking was 20E a day. She offered (and we accepted) an unattended refuel, which was done accurately as per our request.
We drank a lot of Guinness. :-)
Many thanks to Dublinpilot and the rest of you. We'll certainly do some more flying in Ireland - what a lovely place!
kind regards Bob
Glad you enjoyed your trip!
I have been to Sligo quite a lot (friend lives in Co. Rosscommon) and it is a delight. Friendly staff, good facilities and a few good pubs for food not far away. Give it a try.
