Can I fly to Jersey from UK with my LAPL pilots licence

I believe that there may be a problem flying in to Jersey from the UK with a LAPL pilots licence.

I have tried to find the latest on this but cannot get a consistent answer. I have emailed the Jersey Civil Aviation Authority but had no reply (maybe I have the wrong email).

Can any one help with this question.

The latest official document I can find is on the Guernsey government website Aviation page which published an updated Aviation Journal that applies to both Jersey/Guernsey/Alderney dated 7th April 2016

This states in section 2-6.2 that:

Under both Jersey21 and Guernsey22 law, there is no requirement for exemptions for
holders of NPPL, LAPL or similar licences. Pilots are required only to ensure that they
comply with the national regulations of the State of registration.

You can also find the underlying Jersey Aviation regulations here

As you may know, Channel Islands airspace has been revised and is Class D up to FL80, so there is no need for SVFR any more. Just contact Jersey Zone in plenty of time for entry clearance and you’ll be fine. Fuel at Jersey is remarkably inexpensive, and even cheaper for AOPA members who remember to bring their card along.
