Actually heading there tonight ! By train though

LFOU, France

LFAT Le Touquet Sunday 8th August is definitely going to happen, wx permitting.

Hard runway and hard parking so no issue with being waterlogged.

We would like to see you there, but whats the actual position returning to the UK

Here

You need to buy one test kit for Day 2, afaict. The absolute dirt cheapest cowboy outfit is this
https://www.randoxhealth.com/covid-19-testing-faq
although this one gets good reviews
https://www.c19testing.co.uk/
I have just ordered a kit from each; they don’t seem to have a shelf life.
Previously I used http://qured.com which were ok provided you use it for GA and not airline (their pre return test is dud; they are crooks like most of them)
When you order it, the website asks for the flight date. Just lie, to get it sent out sooner.

Currently planning LFAT on Thursday 12/8/21.

BTW both kits mentioned above arrived fairly fast. The Randox PCR test kit is £48. That’s the cost of a large-ish box of chocs at one of the two chocolate shops on the main street

Well boyz and gurls you all missed out on a nice day

At LFAT, police just wanted to see the certificate, and asked me to show them the barcode on the phone, but the NHS app would not load due to a bad signal.

They got both of us to sign some sworn statement about not infecting people.

On return, UK police just wanted to check passports against a printout of the GAR form. No CV19 related stuff at all.

Alpha_Floor and I had a great trip. One other G-reg at the airport. Suprisingly busy in the town. The restaurant, La Taverne Royale, was busy as hell and it was fairly obvious that they lost our order at least once, so it took hours…

Brits need to get their act together and be less scared and start going abroad again.

against a printout of the GAR form

Why did French customs get a copy of the UK GAR form?

Mainz (EDFZ) & Egelsbach (EDFE), Germany

They didn’t; I wrote

UK police just wanted to check passports against a printout of the GAR form

which they nearly always do nowadays. There is not enough crime in the UK, the Irish gypsies have gone all straight so no more lawn mowers and chainsaws getting stolen, and anyway they must not be called Irish gypsies anymore so the police cannot take any action against them, so the police spend public money meeting up planes and comparing the passport numbers on the GAR form against the real passports.

So you get this.

BTW I now get 100% genuine French stamps in my passport. This is really special and it makes one feel like a real international traveller. Pre-brexit one had to go to the outer reaches of civilisation (like Montenegro) to get stamps.

More info on CV19 procedures.

The Texel (EHTX) fly-in (biggest in NL), together with AOPA NL fly-in, is next weekend, August, 21st

http://www.texelflyin.nl

Planning to be there, would be cool to get together if others are coming too.

I am interested in Texel Fly-in.
If weather ok and CVD19 procedures acceptable (should be with EU Covid Pass) I will fly there.
Just renewed my AOPA membership !
Let’s try to meet.
