Pipistrel Panthera (combined thread)

I thought you would like it Peter as it looks like an updated and super modern TB20. Where are they with certification?

Two wings, engine up front, people in the middle. Can’t you see the resemblance?

Looks more like a Cirrus to me

I am surprised you guys made it through your medical, especially the vision part.
Can’t you see it’s a Diamond? Shameless copying of the tail section.
Of course the original is a lot more beautiful.

I sincerely hope this plane becomes a hit. That valiant little company deserves it. Especially if they pioneer some advanced propulsion as they claim they will.

I second that!

Would love to support them by ordering one of these, but alas…

P.S.: What this plane really would need is a modern engine, like the EPS. One certification after the other, I guess…

Except that it will outfly it and probably have a better payload too…

Unfortunately, the advertised performance specs look to be “unatainable” :

“Fly 4 people
for 1000NM
cruising at 200 KTS
with 10 gallons per hour. Finally”

BS !

On the other hand, I suspect that any ONE of those attributes IS attainable, maybe even two, just NOT ALL four at the same time …

Well, you can all harrass Pipistrel here

I don’t know if they have actually built the IO540 version yet. All the reviews I have seen have the original IO390 which is dead in the water.

In the meantime I might visit Honeywell and harrass them too
