After the Paris attacks they did the same on the E40 east bound at the French/belgian border, causing a queue of 2 hrs! What is the objective there?
To show the citizens that the government is doing something… E.g. on the Austrian-Hungarian border on the motorway there has been constant checks (by the Austrians) for illegal immigrants for almost a year. Checks on smaller roads are much rarer and no checks if you entered Austria from Slovakia. And you can cross the border between Hungary and Slovakia without ever being checked.

Well, when you observe that you can enter airside at any Norwegian airport (with luggage – without any screening) without showing any document that proves that you have any legitimate business there… Makes you wonder.
Well it certainly used to be like that at Stavanger…but not for the last ten years….

I do not know the current situation at ENZV, ENBR and ENGM for GA, but Kristiansand, Kristiansund, Ålesund, Molde certainly do not do any kind of screening whatsoever.

Obviously Norway doesn’t have the “problems” which are elsewhere in Europe, so they can be lax because nobody wants to blow up Norway, but Frankfurt??
No additional security check in transit either! Only the one at the first departure airport. (And sorry, it wasn’t Eindhoven, it was Amsterdam — I got to Eindhoven by train.)
There were no ID check from Amsterdam either, flying KLM.
Looks like the police in Europe is completely disorganised – starting with the 1 police officer at LFAT checking passports (veeeeery slowly) being watched by the 14 others chatting away, all with enough guns to launch a coup in Paris
Leaving Verona this morning, we were sent through passport control and customs at Dubrovnik with all the arriving airline passengers. We were allowed the crew line though, so fast.

Kristiansand screened us last summer when returning to the plane after a stop at the zoo…

Croatia is not part of Schengen, so that’s perfectly normal.
