Walter – we want to know how you managed this
That long trip was taking off from Leavesden UK (now disused.)
Leavesden is now Warner Bros UK Studio.
I went there yesterday. It was decommissioned in 1995
Just after Hatfield in 1994 :(
Hello Walter,
I am based at Elstree. I also used to fly from Leavesden, in the 1980’s.
I don’t know what your flying arrangements are when you come to the UK?
If you would like to meet up at Elstree one day I would love to offer you a flight or two!Howard
What an amazing life-story Walter! I hate to bring bad news about your record though , a few weeks ago I asked Chuck Yeager (just turned 95) if he still holds a valid medical and pilots licence, he said he did! He’s on twitter, and he answers questions too. He made my day, replying to me. But you are in good company!
Fabulous. Can I have some of what you’re having.
