If you have an IR and want to use it in Europe, you will need your own kit, two O2D2 regs, and a nice big cylinder
I’ll have a cylinder. AL-647 – I just need to get MH3 and some cannulas. You run a portable pulse demand system right? I’ll probably only be able to invest in that once I’ve got a car and can store it safely, but right now where I live, having a car means paying Labour £30 a day to move, unless I get ULEZ compliant etc.
Anyway digressing, I need to fill said AL-647 as it’s half empty.
The bottle has a CGA-540 on it. Presume I’d need an adapter to refill? If so which one?
Evening All,
Is there a place at Beziers (LFMU) that will re-fuel the DOT oxygen bottle? I’ve got the EU/US adapter. Just curious.
You can get it at Avignon, you can contact Orbifly…you can get it in Cannes, Toussus, Avignon, LePlessis and LeTouquet but I am not aware of other airports, maube gliding clubs? there are not that many FIKI SR22 & DA42 based in Beziers, so not sure who sells & buys that stuff?
PS: I buy O2 & TKS in LeTouquet once a year and it’s a hassle to organise
I am looking at getting this for my IR flying in Europe as then I don’t have to worry about re-filling for round trips, circa x2 people and x3 shorter trips.
Anyone got any experience with this specific bottle and the EDS system? Is this the cheapest place to get it? AFE Online?

Navboys and possibly LX Avionics sell them. I would advise calling and enquire if they have stock or if it will sipped from the US
CFFC-048 would give me roughly 40.5 hours on the DA40s cruise. (FL150/FL160) with an EDS. That seems perfect – roughly a return journey of 3 up to Southern Spain 13.5hrs flying time per person (Based on 3pax)
So the CFFC-048 doesn’t come with a regulator?

One of these?

And this?

I presume my flowmeters don’t become redundant anyhow?
Dead link(s) but yes you need a regulator. Get the cylinder with a gauge on top of it.
Then it gauge shows how much gas is in there, without having to open the valve. The 1st stage regulator doesn’t have a gauge on it.
Remember the safe procedure: to remove the 1st stage reg, close the cylinder valve and use up a bit of air, so there is no pressure at the base of the 1st stage regulator (it is actually very hard – and dangerous – to unscrew it if there is pressure).
Another option you might want to look into – oxygen concentrators:

I use an Inogen G5 and find it works very well. I got it used off of leboncoin.fr for about 1500 Euro, new price is 2500 Euro. Mine was brand new, never used. There are deals out there. I’ve only tested it with one person – I’ve read it works fine for two up to 14k.
