This week’s video shows some of the cool technology now available to this aircraft. It will make a huge difference for the European IFR flights I plan for next year. Including but not limited to; automatic GPSS to quick find of Enroute airport ATIS and Stormscope, and the ability to stream third-party ADSB weather information from iPad to the system in the future via the Garmin Flight Stream. Check it out!
You’ll also note on this flight, a complete change in editing style and a faster-paced vlog. This is a step in the right direction and has meant it’s far shorter bringing it to more audiences. If you have any suggestions for the VLOG let me know.
Some popular ones lately are; 1) Change Face view as it’s too low 2) Change Instrument View so it’s closer 3) Better Audio Quality (*Solved**) 4) Map of the current location for flight and lastly 5) A bit more interaction (which I’ve edited into this video)
Thanks for the continued support!

I have had no issues with this bit of kit here. Was done in Belgium. Pricey though!

Is the GFC500 not available (G1000 DA40 has the GFC700)?
It’s not and it will never be because neither Diamond nor Garmin wants to make it happen.
Very nice avionics indeed!

@pilotrobbie what shop did the installation and how much?

And unfortunately KAP140 as still the only available autopilot for this configuration, unlike C172 which can use GFC500.
I didn’t know that. Explains why.

The GTN650XI isn’t that old. Jan 2020 I believe, along with the latest versions of the ASPEN EVO 2000 MAX Pro.
What is “first” about this configuration?
Of course everything will be “approved” otherwise it would not be installed
It can’t be the first DA40 which can do “EGNOS, PBN & LPV” because any plane with a GNS430W can do that.
On “3D audio”; here is an old thread, mentioning a few installations and generally happy users.

Nice!
Why was an aspen system selected as PFD instead of a G500txi?
Anyone else dislike 3d audio? I think it’s terrible.
