Ad Hoc fly-ins

Telegram group for ad-hoc fly-ins: https://t.me/+xNhorhP63F8wMDU0

Anyone up for LFAT tomorrow (Thursday 7th Oct)?

It would be great to see this group used more.

Coronavirus seems to have dropped a few tons of total apathy into GA 😁 plus a bunch of fly-in regulars have recently got out of flying and bought a boat 😂

The long term value in GA is not going around in circles or flying to some airfield for a “burger”. The long term value is going to nice places, and meeting up with interesting people. Those who I have seen drop out were mostly people who stopped doing that, and then some “medical event” (which really should have been addressed, aviation or not) was all that was needed to drop out completely.

I am thinking of going LFAT Tuesday with my old instructor. Just need to know what the faff central is.

If I understand the following;

Inbound to France -
PN PPR 24HR?
DĂ©claration sur l’honneur?
Proof of Double Vaccination (NHS Digital)?
TousAntiCovid?

Return to UK -
GAR & Passenger Locator Form
Day 2 Test

Qualified PPL with IR SP/SE PBN
EGSG, United Kingdom

The info on that is posted here because it varies. But yes if you are 2x vacced, the additional requirements are the PLF and Day 2 test.

2 Hours notice plus what Peter says above, no faff at all

LFAT canned today. Doing it Saturday. Looks like others going too.

Heading to LFAT in the Sportcruiser tomorrow, planning to stay the night and head back to the UK Wednesday morning.

Nice Sadly I can’t make it, otherwise I would definitely be over.

You should join the Ad Hoc fly-in group on telegram:

Newquay EGHQ planned for Saturday 6th November.
Anyone interested, join up the telegram group

PPR via the Newquay Flying Club.

Several aircraft going.

Please be aware that if you do plan to come but say nothing, nobody else will turn up because they are all waiting to see who else is coming

It is likely that in the future it will be “mandatory” to join this telegram group (which is a really trivially easy thing to do) for fly-ins, otherwise somebody has the job of constantly copying all relevant stuff posted in the telegram group to the forum, and vice versa.

We had a great meet-up at Newquay EGHQ.

Is there any interest in a meet-up in the Alps somewhere? Nothing too radical – I was thinking of say Aosta which ticks all the boxes.
