That`s the reason why I decided to try EPWS. Not because I cannot afford it but because it is not fair. I did pay 23 Euro at Szymanow even with parking in the hangar.
We were welcome by a very friendly manager. The 700 meter lighted grass runway was in good condition (April 2018). Taxi ride to the city center was only 10 Euro.
I would do it again.

Not really canceling as Wroclaw seems attractive destination to justify 2 POB trip (read: good excuse to fly…). To justify it a bit further, too audacious charges are to be minimized. EPWS serves this purpose well.

Good idea for the next trip if heading to Warsaw. This time we talk about Wroclaw. I have confused these two quite a few times, too.

EPBC has many superior benefits for traveller.

  • guarded gate and excellent protektion against vandalismin
  • tramline 3 just less than one km from tower
  • free journey to center, because no ticketsale in tram
  • fuel and maintenance on field.

All I was getting at was why cancel a trip due to the handling charge.

It’s PLN 7,25 + 23% VAT, so EUR 2,09 per liter.

It´s in line with the official airport web info plus a fuel charge of PLN 162, i.e. EUR 38 per every 1000kg of avgas

Fuel prices for all Polish airports can be found here: https://dlapilota.pl/wiadomosci/dlapilota/aktualizacja-ceny-paliw-lotniczych-na-polskich-lotniskach

Didn´t ask. Here´s what they say on their web about the fuel:
fuel EPWR
Direct handling link:
handling EPWR

Also one correction:
only 7.50 EUR departing passenger charge (probably using the main terminal)

Not giving up and planning for EPWS.

Just received a quote for my planned trip to WRO/EPWR (all prices net)

It took me 3 days to get all the pieces together, emailing apparently to two different business entities – airport services (landing fee, passenger charge), handling (the rest)
65 EUR basic handling (just crew)
135 EUR standard handling
18.60 EUR landing
1.40 EUR parking per tone of MTOW and 24h
35 EUR departing passenger charge (using GA terminal)
plus some minor security charge and who knows what else…

Some items are really bargain, some standard, some surprising. Dealing with WRO could be a touch smoother, still professional though.

This seems to be by far the highest total of my limited larger airport experience (Dresden, Salzburg, Nurnberg) so the trip is postponed.
