For what I know, the airport restaurant has closed. It had very good reviews from visitors, but I never ate there, because even on an short stop, I always wanted to spend at least an hour or so in Piran (and the shuttle was so quick and reliable). Don’t know why it closed, it was always well full with people. Probably some new project for the chef, who I understand had higher aspirations.
In Piran, I always like to go to “Ivo”, a slightly smaller restuarant, a bit further down on the seafront. Sample of their fresh, oven-baked gilthead further down in this trip report. Many others go to “Pavel 2”, the obvious choice, but it never appealed as much to me.

May I suggest a la carte. It is not binding because a fixed menù is based on the number of participants and there is a difference if only 20 of the 40 expected show up.
Also, from experience, pilots are individualists and like to choose
Okay – update.
1. I have sent the list of expected arrivals to the airport manager (I had already phoned him last week and there were no issues).
2. I have spent 20 minutes on the phone with the restaruant owner. He has been running the airport restaruant for the last two weeks but he has another well known place
in the Lido town centre.
All the food is fresh, bought daily.
He would prefer a fixed menù because he will not be able to assure everything on la carte if everybody orders the same item.
He can also add an antipasto to the fixed menù if it is required.
He would like to know the exact number of people (+-2/3). I said I would advise of correct number on Friday. (Peter, would you be able to update me?)
