There was a discussion a few weeks ago under some other title about whether fuel is available at Cannes LFMD.
Summary: yes, 100LL is still available.
There is a NOTAM that says the 100LL pumps are unavailable. That is true – there is some kind of refurbishment going on. But right next to them there is a fuel truck (as described in another NOTAM). You just pull up alongside it and the helpful guy inside sets everything up for you – though you still have to pump the fuel yourself.
Thx 4 explaining, John!
Brilliant NOTAM then…

Here is what our clubs did sent. (in french :/)
“Hélas, cette solution va durer sans doute jusqu’en Février.” —> We will have to use it at least until Feb23.
What they omit to tell you is that there is still only 1 BP refueller per shift and they are now allocated to both the temporary Avgas truck and the usual JETA-1 provision. I’ve recently experienced long delays for fuel as a result.
What about aircrafts with wingspan greater than 13m like a Pa46? No Fuel or fueling somewhere else by the truck?
OT. Do we need handling at LFMD? Planing to go there on Friday. Thx
Do we need handling at LFMD?
No. What’s common is that you park initially in front of the terminal building, leave the aircraft ready-to-tow and walk away (or someone picks you up). Then they move the aircraft to final parking spot and when you’re leaving they return it.
Do we need handling at LFMD?
Depends whether you want to be a “big plane” or a “little plane”. For “little planes” you go to visitor parking (on grass) and you just pay a landing fee. I’ve never been a “big plane” so I don’t know for sure, but @Emir no doubt knows what he’s talking about.
For anything to do with LFMD, @greg_mp is the go-to guy.
Thanks to you. Letˋs see what happen. Ì‘ll report but who is greg_mp?
It‘s a little plane. Just a piston Pa46.
